Fun Fact! For most of Roman History, the gladiatorial games were mostly non-lethal, with contestants battling until injury or disarmament, as well as a venue for public execution. Gladiators were expensive and were considered celebrities, so killing them every match would have been a terrible investment.
So, yeah, bring them back the same except public execution. i’m game. and the robots, that’d be badass.

But there’s the trouble; to get help, one assumes that they would need to feel comfortable getting help. so if it’s intentionally stigmatized, why would someone seek help knowing the possible repercussions?
i agree with you, BTW, but it’s where the argument and controversy begin.

As i understand it, it’s a reasoned (if incredibly messed up) argument; there are those who are attracted to minors, but choose not to act on it, as well as those who are and do and should absolutely be punished by the law. Those that don’t act on it, though, likely will choose to seek help and treatment. Or would, except the social stigma around it is so prevalent that they would feel ostracized for seeking help, and there isn’t much help to be had, except under the penal system anyway. If it were viewed as orientation, however, it would remove some of the stigma, there would be a community to reach out to for help and treatment, and it would fall under study. The reason for the attraction could be identified (maybe it stems from childhood abuse or trauma, or mental illness), and therefore can be treated under an appropriate psychiatric setting.
HOWEVER, this is a double-edged sword; identifying it as orientation could normalize that, and that would obviously be disastrous.

He was Corsican. Corsica is a colony which regularly changed hands between the french, germans, english, and italians, though was primarily owned by the french, and was i think under Italian leadership at the time of his birth BUT changed hands during his lifetime (if i remember my sophomore Honors Global correctly- might want to fact check).
So... yes. Basically French, but explaining the detail the Redditors keep harping on.

I live in Germany. So true no one cares, when a german soldier dies in in a war movie 3 comments

they should do a movie about the siege of Castle Itter (spelling might be off). justifiable crying for the deaths of both, unless it’s the SS, and arguably the battle most in NEED of a war movie.

You either get government regulated a hero, or you get fed up enough to become the villain 9 comments

You know what fuck it I’d be a villain too, honestly. Put that way, why even try?

side note: the complete transition in character from hopeful soldier looking to protect humanity and avenge his mother to bleak terrorist seeking to overthrow established powers to create the overruling Eldian state is shocking and exciting. kind of a modern “die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” type thing.
