so long as there’s no discrimination or harmful intent, then fine.

YES. or, just as bad, in movies tv and literature, when they do the same to try and make their content more “inclusive”. do not get me wrong; i do not have anything against lgbtq+ poc characters, but just make sure they’re an actual CHARACTER. i want well written roles in my stuff that i can engage with and carry meaningful arcs, not a character whose entire schtick is that they pander to a demographic by being as flamboyantly of that demographic as possible (also not to say that i have anything against flamboyance; Klaus in Umbrella Academy fucking ROCKS and i just really hope they handle Elliot Page’s character’s transition with grace).

they kind of do?
except they type it out as Rifle: M1, Tank: M1, Helmet: M1, or worse, “the M1 patterned Helmet/Tank/Rifle/Carbine” why they type it out i haven’t the foggiest idea.

more like vietnam presented that as a challenge. tactically, the American military had few battlefield defeats, and if they were sent to take a hill or a town, they did. BUT, there is a massive difference between “taking” and “holding”. and we couldn’t hold each strategically important spot forever. not that that the enemy was too much for them; more like it was a logistical nightmare of olympic proportions. not to mention the political aspect of it…
vietnam was a clusterfuck. we had the best damn military in the world led by a bunch of suits who didn’t know what their end goal was and barely knew their own ass from a hole in the ground. this affected nearly every aspect of how and when we fought, and it lost us the war.

no shit though xbox 360 controllers are unnaturally durable. over the life of my 360 i never needed more than one and the console died before this thing ever did, and that thing survived dogs, small kids, being sat on, thrown at walls but friends, soda immersion… i believe it. i’ve even seen a pic of one of these being used for small drones in combat but that may have been just very convincing photoshop.

that… i’m sorry. that unfortunately is a thing that can happen. i have a friend where i work where he can’t go to japan to interface with our associates out there for the same reason, despite being the head of his department. he has to send a representative. he’s tried to work it out but it’s been difficult.
this does not reflect all of japanese people, mind you. this largely seems to be a corporate or upper class issue, kind of like a significant portion of white upper class people here in America…

which begs the question; is this rule change a violation of rights? how do we resolve this ? i don’t have any clear answer and i’m afraid that no one does.
edit: thank you for your honest open take. in my family trans rights is a hot-button topic and we can’t talk about it without someone going ballistic, at which post i usually try and leave the room before the shouting starts. it’s a nice change of pace to come to a place where opinions and honest questions can be shared without both sides thinking they’re so right that no ideas can really be shared. and yeah i get that no everyone on the site is so open, but it’s still a welcome change.

and THAT’S a sticky issue, and one that is made further difficult by statistical evidence; in an article on the NZ NIH website (which i frustratingly can’t post here because of the site’s rules) they discuss the statistical difference and the problems it presents, and in a Business Insider article they discuss Lia Thomas’ success it was mentioned that she was 65th in mens swimming in the NCAA which jumped to around the top 5 in womens, which prompted a rule change mentioned in a Washington Times article where post-pubescent biological males can’t participate in womens swimming. (again, i would post links but i apparently CAN’T >:-( ).
