My sister passed around her phone to show us all a post one night, and I joined the next day. Which is only weird when we have a virtual run in here lol

And here Saviourself is saying her sexual identity (and other LGBTQI people's) should not be up for debate at all, and that's the whole point.

Then you have nothing to say. Gay people are being who they are and loving who they are the exact same way you are doing heterosexually. There shouldn't be a difference which in the eyes of the separation of church and state that makes Saviour any different from you in her relationships. She is not making mistakes or giving into anything unnatural, nothing about her private life is hurting anyone. Either is any other LGBTIQ person in a consensual relationship. Go focus on the millions of divorcees of people within your faith, man. Clean up your own house before barging into someone else's.

Every argument Mike is giving for being able to have a say in the private lives of gay people (other then the whole gay people=cigarettes) is on the basis that he thinks they are doing something wrong, that there is something sinful that they need to be saved from. Saviour is a gay person who knows she is not broken or wrong, so therefore understands that the whole "good Samaritan" argument for intrusion into her and other gay people lives doesn't stand up.
You both fundamentally have different beliefs. Mike believes that Saviourself is sinful and needs to be saved (pun intended) from her sexual identity like all of the other LBGTQI Community. SaviourSelf believes her sexual identity does not require fixing. You guys are not going to hold hands and skip here.

Oh please, do not lump all Christians together. The Christians I know actually listen to Christ and go by "let he who is free from sin cast the first stone" and don't do any of your little "I judge actions and behaviors because that's what God wants." That is why people look at religion as a sword and not a salve is people like you. If you want to be a Christian make like Christ and love thy neighbor.

If he has, that's his choice, and it's what he feels he needs to do to stay healthy. My guess is that he want to see home many people will 'miss 'him,' like a lot of depressives do. But just in case he leaves and you feel abandoned, remember you have each other to lean on, and check out this article: http://m.wikihow.com/Get-over-Losing-a-Friend

It's completely okay, it's really upsetting to see someone you care about in pain and talking about suicide, even in just the hypothetical. A lot of people on here I am sure have thoughts of suicide themselves or have lost someone to it, which increases that anxiety and worry. You have every right, all of you, to feel upset.

Looking through his messages from the past few days he indicates he'll be taking a day or so off of FS to take a trip with his family, so we can be comforted knowing they will be around him, and the silence is because of a trip, not because of anything else.
+
If he does leave FS, that's going to cause a different kind of pain, but as his friends on here we should support him doing what is healthy for him to do. If the trolling is too much for him, maybe there are other, more moderated sites. He should do what he needs to be happy.

I am sure he just meant he was leaving the site. He's an old, mature guy who is taking a trip for a few days, so I would look for him on his other sites, the kik and tumblr then. I wanted to post a link that was posted above for anyone who was triggered by this talk of suicide and self harm; you can't look to a humor site with no moderators as the best place to get help, but there are others available 24/7 ((thanks Saviour Self for the link)): I really encourage you all to take the next step and talk to someone trained to help: http://confession-of-the-depression.tumblr.com/hotlines
***This site is also great for tons of issues and has a "Chat Now" option:

Recovery is difficult, and it's important to surround yourself with people who are mature enough to understand the seriousness of the issue and who make you feel positive. And that is just a good general rule with friends too, why keep the negative immature people around, right? Good luck :)

Every time I hear/see dead baby jokes, I remember my friend Tony who we bonded over hours of them while at work. We even told them the week he got the call that their was something wrong with his wife's pregnancy, that she had to go to the hospital. I still feel like the biggest jerk even though there was no way we could have known that would have happened. I can't even imagine that.

How is that any different than what Saviourself said? You are all talking about the same think, programs that will empower and show children that are victims of bullying how to stand up for themselves to be taught along side of consequences for the bullies. If anything, guest and Kelly are arguing for *more* anti bullying initiatives, since the programs put into place are lacking.

You all are saying the same thing. Cheers.

Mrr, I am not sure how old you are, but it is not acceptable to be a "little racist" or homophobic and throw around slurs and jokes like you are. You need to reread what you have written and see that any credibility that any of your friends on this thread had you have completely shattered. You are supposed to recognize these prejudices and shortcomings in yourself and work to change them, not be proud of them, or try to justify them. We work to be better than the generation before us, not work to be accepted as worse.

I think anyone who sees this thread gets a good image of dialogue and what was trying to be achieved, and I suppose that is the best we can hope for. Thanks to everyone who tried. -+-

No, I don't. My sister is gay, and I have watched her deal with all types of homophobia- from slurs to discrimination, the whole gauntlet. Jokes about her sexual identity, made at her expense hurt her, I know they do, I have seen it personally. So even if I send you websites showing the effect racist, homophobic, and misogynist jokes have on people, I still can tell you personally homophobia is not funny. You may think so because you laugh, but it's not. Hopefully you'll learn that someday, and homophobic jokes will become as offensive as faggot, dyke, etc. Because they are.

No, because when you are laughing at the expense of gay people, what do you thin you are doing? When you find homophobia funny, you give it value, and you are saying it's not such a bad thing, it's even entertaining. There isn't a difference.

So it's okay to think homophobia is funny, just not actually be homophobic? Where is the line?
