She was a know it all asshole with very specious (to say the least) ideas about economics and some threadbare morals. She was also a godawful writer and her books spawned the likes of Alan Greenspan and Paul Ryan.

I was just thinking about this movie. My German teacher in high school would block out a week every year to watch and discuss this movie. The end always, always makes me cry.

He did. He pretty much admitted to forcing a sitting president to show his papers. It's that whole "if you've got nothing to hide, show me what I'm asking for" mentality. That's why he's such a fan of Stop and Frisk.

Teaching about religion is a good thing. Religion is a vast and important subject in human history. But it has to be done in an academic way that does not place value judgements on any one religion.

It's technically possible now, if you're willing to take a ferry across the Berring Straits and drive through BFE, Siberia for four days. I planned this out several ago.

If that is the case, your small town full of rednecks is an outlier. In the vast, vast majority of cases, people on state assistance need it and use it for necessary things and are not on drugs (if Florida is to be believed, anyway).
As for the "welfare queen" meme: it's the idea that people use welfare for superfluous things while, in fact, being very rich and scamming the system. Reagan used it a lot, especially during his campaign fo president.

Welfare fraud accounts for about 2% of total claims. The persistent meme of the "welfare queen" is insanely outdated. While fraud does exist, it's not nearly as prevalent as people think.

Child support doesn't actually force a pregnancy on a person. It assigns a financial burden, but not an emotional, physical, spiritual one. Taking care of a child and throwing money at it are two completely different things.

Docked tails can have their health advantages. For excitable breeds like boxers, it can curb them breaking their tails on something. A some breeds have been engineered with docked tails, actually.

No. No, you're just wrong on this. Terrorism does not have to originate from a foreign place, thus the term domestic terrorism, which describes both the location and nationality of the people perpetrating it. And I find it hilarious (and deeply, deeply disturbing) that you make a very clear distinction between "the government" and "innocent civilians," as if those federal workers were somehow less than somebody who's not. Terrorism targets both civilians and government, not necessarily at the same time, though. The truck driver in Nice targeted civilians, and so did the Boston bombing and several others.

Alright. If you believe you have your finger on the pulse of America, more power to you.

And I'm not sure what your belief is, but the OKC bombing was 100% a terrorist attack, and anybody who believes otherwise is wrong, both factually and morally.

The FBI defines terrorism as "Involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
Appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping," with some slightly different verbiage for domestic and international. There is no provision given to religion or nationality. Islamic terrorism is very real thing, and I think general ignorance to other forms blinds a lot of people.

To clarify: there were several instances and attacks that were believed to be terrorist acts. But calling an event an act of terror is basically a matter of preference as opposed to something solid. While there are certain events like 9/11 that fall squarely into the terrorism category, there are those like the 2002 beltway snipers that dirty the water.

Besides the anthrax attacks, none on US soil, I believe. But there were 13 embassy attacks during his tenure.

When Trump says he wants to ban Muslims, I highly doubt he actually means people who practice Islam, he means brown people from the Middle East. When he says Mexicans, he doesn't mean the nationality, he means brown Spanish speakers. As for other people he's insulted, I think mocking a disabled reporter and calling for the assassination of his rival ranks pretty high.

Yeah, people like to hear their thoughts and beliefs validated, and Trump validates the stupidest and most racist amongst us.
