I did say that there jobs out there for people without a degree, but they are shrinking everyday. I would be ecstatic if there were more well paying jobs that anybody with a work ethic could just hop into and succeed. But most of those jobs don't exist anymore. And for a lot of people, myself included, a smart phone is your only lifeline to the world. I use my phone to: browse the Internet, make calls, stay in contact with people, and watch TV and movies. It has replaced at least four other devices for me. I do need it because I'm on call for my job 24/7, but I guess having a reliable form of communication is a luxury for you

A college education is mostly mandatory in today's job market. Trying to find a good paying job on a career track that you want without a specific bachelor's or masters degree is very difficult. There are examples of jobs you can get without a degree, or course, but for most young people a solid career without one is out of reach.

I like Mr. Robot, but it thinks it's too clever for it's own good. Rami Malek, Christian Slater, and Portia Doubleday really make that show.

I live in a small city that is 100% energy self sufficient. Energy prices are super low and we even sell off our excess to other cities. For alternative energy to work on a nationwide scale we need better infrastructure and economic reasons to do it.

The science and history behind memory is fascinating, but, I think the Mandela Effect is too broad to accurately describe anything.

More specifically, from the episode "Football, Feminism, and You." Also has some great John Oliver moments in it.

Or somebody could have given it to him, or he could have found it. I'm not a fan of this type of activism (holding up a sign with something written on it for a single picture), but I work professionally with a homeless population and they are, by and large, quite resourceful.

That's not really what I meant. You can buy cruelty free and fair trade products, but the interconnectedness of commerce means that something involved in that transaction was produced by somebody working in terrible conditions. Whether it's the palate the product arrived on, the cash register, the building itself...something was made by somebody in a sweatshop.

The thing is, everything you own is somehow, some way, connected to brutality and unfair labor practices.

Stalin did institute pogroms to exterminate Jews as well. But when it comes to Hitler, it's the short amount of time, coupled with the systematic executions, that really makes it stand out. The banal, bureaucratic nature of the Holocaust makes it unique.

I think you're missing the point the point of the shirt, and the characters name wasn't Blade Runner. He was a Blade Runner named Rick Deckard.

Incarceration for minor "quality of life" and non-violent offenses make up a good chunk of the prison population, not the mention three strike rules and recidivism.

I should have clarified. The accent mostly derives from the Norman influence in British courts and royal life in the south, and Scandinavian languages in the north.

No, American English is a thing. Just like Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, etc. are things. They are accents and dialects that require specific knowledge for full and complete understanding. In fact, modern American English sounds more like Old English, as modern British English derives most of its accent from French.

My hometown has something similar, except the time frame is 3 hours. It get extremely hot during the summers and extremely cold during winter nights there, so it's a solid law. I had to call the cops on my neighbors for leaving their two massive Huskys outside, without shade or water, in 100 degree weather. That is a abuse.

In no particular order: Nas, Eric B, EPMD, Guru, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Dr. Octagon (aka Kool Keith), KRS-One, Snoop Dogg, and Andre 3000. I could also put Dizzee Rascal, Ice Cube, either Beastie Boy, or Cee-Lo on the list, especially his time with Goodie Mob.
EDIT: How could I forget 3rd Bass and Biggie?

Eminem is good, but not even top 10 good in good in my opinion. That's not an attack on him, but I think there are other, better MCs out there.

Anthem is Rand-lite. It kind of half makes sense, and is a fun little romp. I read the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged in college thinking I was missing out on this cool thing, only to realize that I really wasn't. Objectivism is such a morally bankrupt and moronic philosophy that appeals to the inner jerk in all of us. It all sounds vaguely nice, but in the end it doesn't make any sense.
