Holocaust denial is a fascinating subject. So much of it hinges on the bizarre theory that, sure, some genocide may have happened, but we were lied to about the whole thing. It's completely nuts.

There are several widely available videos of the Allied troops liberating the camps and interrogating the locals. They're absolutely heartbreaking.

I think the fusion cores are only in FO4. You didn't have to use them for power armor in any of the other games, if my memory is correct.

Most of them are point guards like Bouges: currently, Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Darren Collision, and Kyle Lowry are the most notable. It's not a huge list, but they do exist.

Oxford comma, ladies and gentlemen 8 comments
pripyatplatypus · 5 years ago
The Oxford comma is far from a universal necessity. Context is key: we know that Nelson Mandela isn't famous for his dildos, so why should we think that he his? Having the comma does make it easier, but pieces like this are made purposefully silly. Also, a lot of academic papers written in English by people whose first language isn't English omits them.

That I did not know. Thanks for the info. Luckily I've mostly grown out of them, but occasionally get hit when the circumstances are just right: too hot, too much caffeine, and not enough to eat.

The worst part of a migraine 9 comments

I used to get migraines a lot when I was a teenager, and the first warning sign would be my sight suddenly becoming...warmer, I guess...and about 5 minutes later the auroa would set in and make everything extremely bright. Mine always started on my left then migrated across my field of vision.

Purple up that prose, but don't lie. You'll get caught during the interview process.

The homeless problem in Los Angeles is staggering. I think in their last point in time survey they had 75K homeless people in the city, many of them sleeping outside in the Skid Row area.

Titanfall 2 is and absolutely great game. The single player mode is fantastic, and it's really the only game I play multiplayer.

As somebody who works at a homeless shelter in the an extremely cold weather city, there is never enough beds. For numerous reasons, people may not want to or be able to stay in a shelter: they have addiction or mental health issues, they previously got in trouble with a local shelter, they may have beef with somebody staying at a shelter, they may not be able to bring their belongings, or any number of reasons. Plus, in a city like Chicago, with its massive population, being able to house every single homeless person every night is impossible. There are just too many.

I think it's ridiculous that our government is built in a way that it can, and does, periodically shut down because of political differences.

I always thought it would be an interesting subversion to show that the typical heroes of a superhero movie don't truly have the best interest of humanity at heart and just want to show off their glamour muscles and hit things. One reason I really like Legion is that it goes beyond the idea of punching your problems away and portrays David Haller as a broken man who just happens to be the most powerful mutant to ever exist.
