Are they those goats that faint when they feel in danger? Think about that for a minute. A wolf or other prey animal comes along to these goats, scares them and they all faint basically letting them choose whichever one they want.

Still not as bad as the Chips-crisps-fries thing where they are all backwards. Then add in Australia and it's even worse

I'm don't know that much on the brain parts of it but on the eye things I can. On the blind people thing too, most people who are blind their eyes still work in giving sensory information to the brain. There have been studies of blind people that were sat in front of a monitor and shown faces of people smiling and yawning and they did these things too (similar to how normal people do). Their eyes still work in a sense just not properly. The light and dark your eyes are seeing (in non blind people to) resets your biological clock in accordance with the phase response curve (PRC just google it). Depending on the timing, light can advance or delay the circadian rhythm (basically your sleep cycle).

http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/inheritance/clockgenes/ fourth paragraph in the How do clocks affect sleep section. You do end up unsynced and with longer days than normal but it doesn't get as far as a 48 hour day. You might end up somewhere around an early 30s hour day.
It has to do with the part of your brain that controls your body clock. It uses the suns light as a sensory input to reset it each day. Without this input it becomes out of sync

If the other 2 where still young then it would depend on the environment they are in and how many babies the mother is having. If the mother is having more than 2 babies save them (can they even do this?)save them If they are in the wild you'd save the older 2 because they are less likely going to be killed because they aren't so defenceless but if in captivity then they would all be fine. If in captivity though they are probably going to want them to reproduce so you'd want the older 2 which are more mature and will have kids sooner but, lets say it's a place like sea world that needs the tourist attraction and money you'd want the baby one to attract people.

You could kill the other 2 because they might be older and not live much longer anyway and let the mother and baby live. But the baby one has a higher chance of dying until it grows up a bit more. But if you killed the mother the baby would never live and couldn't make more babies.
