I don’t know... white wine isn’t all that threatening.
Maybe if “murder on my mind” was a Cabernet or a Malbec...

I’m nearly positive that is not a kids hand writing, but an adult trying to make it look like a kid wrote it. The pressure is too even for a kid with that much inconsistency in case and spelling. The straight lines are too straight. Whoever wrote that has the ability to control the letter shape.

1-2% of people will get a low grade fever from the flu vaccine.
That’s not the same as getting sick with the full force of the influenza virus and it is not what the argument is trying to suggest. They are acting like a recipient of the vaccine is likely to get the flu from the vaccine. That’s misleading and it deters people from getting a vaccine that could help a lot of people.

My parents started talking to me about the nature of relationships and sexuality when I was very young. I have had one sexual partner and we have been together nearing 30 years.
We talked very candidly to our child about the nature of relationships and sexuality. As soon as he was old enough to start asking questions, I bought him some books about it sex/sexuality. My kid is 15, I don’t know for sure, but I think my kid is not sexually active. And, If my kid is, the kid has access to birth control and understands how and why to use it.
Generally, kids are going to do what they do. The best a parent can do is prepare them to make the best decision. That means providing accurate information.

There’s actually some study to suggest that people who use curse words, I fact, have a more diverse vocabulary.

Thing is, the worst thing you’ve ever experienced is the worst thing you’ve ever experienced.
Combine that with the reality that chemistry can force you to feel pain you think you have no reason to feel and suddenly, you have this pain that brings guilt.
Bottom line, whatever you feel, you have a valid reason to feel it. You may have wonderful parents who do all the “right” things and somehow everything is still wrong. There’s no comparison. You feel what you feel and it is valid.

I get the sentiment, but there are a lot of English speaking people with English words tattooed to them as well as French and Spanish and whatever language they want to say whatever thing on them forever.

People are funny that way. I guess a lot folks just can’t fathom it. I guess a lot of people are so specific in their attraction that they can imagine being not so specific.

It’s been a couple decades since I was in a bad car accident, and to this day I marvel at the sensation of being in and coming out of shock.
But also all the stuff I got done while in shock. Like make sure the car was in park and take the keys out of the ignition. I made a phone call and unbuckled. I took off my shoes (there was glass in them). Even though I did all this stuff, and I really clearly remember it and my thought process and how I felt, I still don’t have much awareness of anything that was happening outside of my car. I don’t remember seeing where the car that hit me landed, or who got out of that car. I remember A bystander approaching my window, but I don’t remember his car or anything. I remember being hauled away in an ambulance but not when it arrived.
Then later, I remember the sensation of the shock draining away. It felt like someone just pulled the plug and as it drained away, sensation was restored and the tunnel vision dissipated.

Haha! No, I don’t live alone. I’ve just always considered bathroom time sacred. And instilled that in my family as well.

I dunno, it seems like you should be able to close the bathroom door and expect people to knock.

Also, just because most people infected with the disease don’t die, and because many people have mild to moderate symptoms, doesn’t mean that it isn’t particularly bad.
There are cases now where people have made full recovery and then suffered severe side effects. There are numerous cases where people are suffering lingering symptoms for months (and we don’t know if those will be permanent). People suffering organ failures... children suffering organ failures.
And most importantly, some of the people who are having only mild symptoms are suffering long term neurological effects. These are people who didn’t even realize they had the disease until they sought treatment for the neurological disfunction they were experiencing.

Say hi to our pet! She's been growing like a champ. (Trigger warning: spider) 7 comments

We had a pet spider for a while one fall. But she lived outside on the porch. We felt really bad for it because it was missing a bunch of legs and it’s web was so pitiful. At first we tried to throw insects into the web but the web was so bad it couldn’t catch things. So my spouse caught a thing and held it up near the spider. It was amazing because the spider reached out with all of of her legs and took the insect from my spouse. The next night, when feeding the spider my spouse felt the brush of the spiders mouth. After that we decided we needed to use gloves!
We fed the spider every other night for a week or so, until she was able to build a web that could catch prey. It was around that time that the spider would shy away and not come close to take offerings anymore.
But it was neat to nurse it back to health. At first it had turned really dark was a little bit shriveled. But as we fed it, it started to Regain it’s bright color and fill out.
