Quite a lot of drugs in the restaurant. And alcohol. And you already have weird hours.

He’s a graffiti artist, has a distinctive stenciled style that is often political. It is interesting, even if you object to the content.

Also, there used to be a difference, not saying one machine was universally better than the other, but one was better for some things. And back when it mattered, if you were part of a specialized industry, to avoid issues, you had to use one platform or the other. And, if you’ve been in a specialized industry for 20-30 years you get comfortable with a particular system.

It seems humans feel that way about most things.
Washington Post did a fun little experiment with virtuoso violinist, Joshua Bell. He played to a sold out theater just a couple days prior to donning a t-shirt and jeans and playing for tips in a subway arcade. I think he made $100 ($20 of it from a person who recognized him and wished to give him more), which is about the cost of a single ticket from the sold out show.
We need to understand why we think it has value I guess. We need some sort of anchor.

Totally seeing it happen in my own home and it cracks me up. My spouse is all pouty that it’s popular now, but also is def going through a sea shanty phase.

I’ve only ever heard of the McElroy podcasters. I know their family has a lot of shows, but I know of My Brother, My Brother & Me, a D&D show and Sawbones, a medical history show.

Chicago? 6 comments

I remember walking around Chicago one March and thinking about all the hungry people begging for food/money. But also noticing that the city was full of planters filled with cabbages and other edible plants and yet nobody eats them.

No violets in this picture!
I really like to put flowers in my food. It just looks nice. And that makes the meal more enjoyable. :)
And lots of flowers are edible. So there’s a much bigger list of edible flowers

This makes me sad. I don’t understand why parents let themselves get so caught up in dogma that they can’t just love their children.

Probably, most people don’t need to have sex so bad that they need to put up with another human unwilling to be considerate of their needs.
We have to be partners to one another. That means sharing more than sex and chores. It means supporting one another emotionally. It means trying to be your best self for someone you want to share yourself with. And it means making compromises. Sometimes those things look like traditional gender roles and sometimes they don’t.
Sex dolls/toys aren’t a threat to someone who wants to be a partner. But if you think being a partner is about sex and chores, I can see why you might be threatened.
