Right! This isn’t a pie. We can celebrate pride, or women, or any number of other demographics without diminishing people that don’t identify with those groups.

My spouse accidentally dropped one of these phones in a deep fryer… fished it out, turned it off, cleaned it and when it was dry turned it back on—it worked just fine.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the support is good for society as a whole. I just don’t think that these companies would take a big risk in support of pride month.

Sure, but part of that is saturation. 50 years ago 22% of US households didn’t own a car (vs 8.5% today), and 22% of US households owned 2 or more cars vs 59% today. So, the number of people with access is dramatically larger, which means there is a broader spectrum of people operating cars. And, modern cars have quite a lot more electronic parts, requiring not just mechanical but electrical knowledge.
Also, modern manuals still tell you how/what to check and how/what to maintain in addition to advising you not to be tempted by the delicious battery.

I like this guy’s notion that these brands haven’t fully calculated the potential business loss of ‘not-homophobes’ boycotting them and balanced it with the gains of LGBTQ+ and allies.
These companies didn’t get where they are (and stay there) by making emotional decisions. They have absolutely run the numbers and determined that jumping on the pride bandwagon is of financial benefit to them.
Not saying there aren’t people in the organizations that genuinely care, but they don’t win the battle if there is significant financial risk.

Many people don’t realize that have eaten horse…
Not that people don’t eat horse intentionally, but every decade or so there’s some scandal about horse meat mixed in with the ground beef.
And this is why I think of horses every time I hear Salisbury steak. … my brother once had an extreme anaphylactic episode after eating SalisburySteak at a restaurant. We always assumed it was some preservative in the sauce. About a decade later, he has a similar reaction to some kinda “beef” sandwich. They test him for allergies. He’s allergic to horses and dust mites. And it was right about that time that the horse meat in the meatballs scandal broke…

Yep. I wasted a lot of years not realizing this. It’s very true. Same goes for your health. Take the time you need to recover.

It’s not so much that they wake and scream. It’s more that they scream all damn day and night and you notice it in the morning.

I think it happens very frequently where you see that people in dire need do not know how to access available resources. Sometimes they don’t have the mental capacity; sometimes they don’t realize there’s help, sometimes they don’t know where to start.
There is a lot missing from this story, but it’s still tragic and entirely too common.
