To all those who say that eating meat is wrong, this is my answer 21 comments

Most primates are folivorous or frugivorous, yet many have much larger canines than we do. They are used for displays of dominance rather than catching and eating prey. Ours could very likely be an evolutionary remnant of that.
Side note: I am not a vegetarian and I love meat, I just want people to be informed.

I'm sorry if this is out of line, but I feel compelled to ask; why are you a creationist? Were you raised that way or did you adopt the belief on your own?

Dogs and cats, the eternal rivalry 26 comments

A cat's sense of smell is no where near that of a dog's, but you can't blame them for that as a dog's snout is much larger and can fit many more receptors. However, in terms of brains, dogs have bigger brains (they're much larger animals), but cats have around twice the number of neurons in theirs making them overall more intelligent.

Tropical rainforests produce 40% of Earth's oxygen. The Taiga forest produces even more oxygen than all the world's tropical forests.

It kinda bothers me that this post is all about books and even mentions re-reading lines, but then the title is talking about a show based on a series of books.

Actually there is debate amongst ancient civilization scholars about whether or not the man mentioned in the bible as Jesus (born in Bethlehem, raised in Nazareth, ect.) was ever a real person.

I don't think that's the point of this comic. It seems like it's arguing that willful ignorance is unjustifiable and unintelligent.

We're talking Cold war definitions of the West here. Which means anything west of eastern Europe. Also any member of NATO is going to be first world.

The second world refers to the former soviet bloc. Technically anyone who isn't in the west (The first world) or a Socialist country (the second world), lives in the third world.
