I would want to levitate my cat and help karma come to assholes. Although, I think maybe admitting to using the force to not be nice means I would be a sith.

@doctorwhooligan I agree with you on your point. I don't believe in a God that works that way either. I actually think it's only religious extremists that really think that. I'm religious, and I still can't believe some of the ugly stuff that comes out of people's mouths. The bible was written by people and has been translated over and over. Things have been taken out and other things have been changed. The scripture some quote to "sustain" their hurtful behavior or beliefs, may have meant something completely different when it was written. That's why I think religion needs science. Just because we read that the earth was made in 6 days, doesn't make it true, or that that's what the writer even meant.

Some people run hot. So even in cold temperatures they're able to be comfortable. 98.6 is only an average. I'm cold even in the summer, but my average is 96.8 where as my ex always wore shorts and ran at about 100.
Still, I'm gonna think you're an idiot of you wear flip flops in the snow.

I'm Impressed by people who stay with their pets when their being put down. It's hard and gut wrenching for you, but it means your pet goes while being with those they love. It's so easy to leave and your choosing your animals comfort and emotional state over your own.

Once while walking into work, I saw an ER patient in a wheelchair, hooked up to iv's and oxygen, smoking in the ambulance bay. There was a nurse smoking with him.

Yes, but usually only as a last resort and you may want a second opinion before you take the plunge. From what I know, they usually start by trying to correct strabismus with glasses or exercises. If that's not effective, the surgery I'm familiar with, involves taking out the eye, and cutting one of the muscles of the eye shorter, then putting it back. It's painful, but not as bad as one would think.

Knock it off. You're being condescending and derogatory. You're claiming you've done research but provided no source or studies. At this point it doesn't even matter if I agreed with you, you're a bully who's using a soapbox to hurt others. Every single post I've read of yours is inflammatory, angry, and judgmental, and dripping with passive aggressive sweet talk. People stop listening when you conduct yourself in such a way. You're never going to change people's minds in this way, and are actually hurting any cause you're crusading for.

Median household income in the USA is about $50,000 a year. In India, it's $1,000 a year. For people living in either country, a major medical problem is a huge financial problem. But it's comparative. The cost of healthcare is not exclusive to America. You have to take differences in economics, cost of living and the actual conditions of a hospital and the training a doctor has, into account when you draw conclusions from those numbers. For people in India, paying for heart surgery is just as financially taxing as an American pays for it here.

How does the cost of a heart surgery perpetuate them making money off of you now and in the future? Yes, medical cost are going up every year. But the actual take home of a doctor is going down. Health insurance companies/malpractice/and the actual cost of doing business are what's pushing those costs up.
My daughter just had open heart surgery 4 weeks ago. You don't need to educate me on how much it costs. Medicine is not there to keep you sick and be a reoccurring money maker.
I've worked in billing, accounting, administration, and insurance prior auth/negotiation.
I've worked in neurology, ophthalmology and as a patient rep in an ER. I'm on the business end of medicine. Health practitioners are not the problem nor the source of the rising cost of healthcare.

I'd recommend it. But only for some. And even then, do your research on the ophthalmic surgeon. One of the surgeons I worked with, specialized in LASIK and reconstruction from shoddy surgeries. Some patients required corneal grafts or a brand new lens after botched LASIK.
If you are a good candidate, you will still have to go in for revisions and tweaks as your eyes age. Still, for many, it's way better then glasses or contacts.
