That is totally not bad. I'm Christian and I believe in evolution. You can believe in God and science at the same time., they aren't mutually exclusive. I believe in pretty much all commonly accepted theories, but I believe that God created their existence and still guides them. If you're interested, watch the movie "Inherit the Wind" (1960), I has some really good ideas about the melding of science and faith.

If it makes you guys feel any better, I'm in Canada and I can only think of a handful of people I know who are anti-gay and even they won't say anything to actual gay people because they know their opinion is unpopular.

As you pointed out, politics is not like real life, at least not the real life most of us experience. There are bigger issues, and more people tend to be cutthroat. But I can name tons of countries with male leaders that are horrible to each other (Israel, Palestine, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, North Korea, Uganda, etc.). Also, I don't know what girls you choose to hang out with, but I only know a few horrible girls, and an equal number of horrible guys. So I don't know what you see in girls that makes you feel we're all "tw@s", but I strongly disagree with you and I think most other people would as well.
