There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part.

I don't know about the rest of these, but I worked with the (RED) charity, and Apple is one of our biggest contributors- they surpassed 70 million this year. Check it out yourself: http://www.tuaw.com/2014/04/04/apples-passes-70-million-in-contributions-to-red-and-other-s/
**And here is an article that talks the company and CEO policy that matches all Apple employee's charity donations up to $10,000, any charity of the employees choosing.: https://doublethedonation.com/blog/2012/12/apple-ceos-philosophy-on-matching-gifts-and-corporate-giving/

That would be nations- race is a different sort of category, there are multiple races in America itself. This would be more of a nationalistic prejudice. I think this was an unfortunate translation error, but it does play into the stereotype that America is overweight, I agree

Men are not sharks or dogs- and women are not pieces of meat that they must salivate over if skin is exposed. Feminists speak out against rape and advocate for prevention and survivors- why that is something to be angry at I am not sure.

You are not alone with how you feel, Reva- it took years for me not to have a physical reaction to rape jokes. My stomach would drop, and I would go cold- sometimes I still do. You aren't alone at all. I personally believe in accountability for our own words and actions- if you choose to mock rape, racism, miscarriage, homosexuals, etc.- you ought to be held accountable for those words, like all the rest you speak. Jokes don't exist in some humor vacuum. We all can have different views, and they all reflect back on us.

Technically the electoral college elects the president of the USA- I think that is what fizzle is talking about. Remember the 2000 election? Check out the info on the electoral college: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(United_States)

I think what this was referring to when he 19th amendment, which was the amendment that gave women the right to vote on a federal level, was added. It was passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, it stands as the amendment which guaranteed all American women the right to vote. Here is the government's site on it:
