For the record I said the term was racist not you are a racist; I know you aren’t. The problem is you don’t get to define what people find racist. I can say the term “alcoholic dirt-worshipping savages” isn’t racist toward the indigenous people of the Americas because I don’t recognize the disparate tribes as one race may be reasonable to me. However, I still sound racist when I say it.

Exactly. Yet you never know what you’re going to get.

“Leftist” is the trendy way to describe people who are against you. You have to keep it vague now because if you use a label like Democrat they can reply with facts regarding their stance to refute the label.

Americans are asleep, quickly upvote for the superior 220V or 230V/50Hz power system 3 comments

Its all debatable. American appliances that draw a lot of power like clothes dryers already use 220v. The reason we don’t just make everything 220 is twofold. First, you would have to increase the thickness of the cords that go from the wall to the device to deal with the higher voltage. The cords would be stiffer and it would use a lot more copper, which is expensive. The second reason is that you are more likely to shock yourself on a toaster or a lamp and than a clothes dryer so reduced voltage in the common devices means less ouchy when you do.

Nixon legalizes for-profit healthcare by signing the Health Maintenance Organization Act 6 comments

I helped design and build some of the first modern healthcare insurance software. That means I had to learn exactly how the entire flow of money goes between providers, facilities, insurance companies, re-pricers, agencies, etc. I can tell you that there is no possible way single-payer (“free”) model doesn’t drive down costs for everyone. You may not like the increased taxes and maybe you don’t agree with the idea of big government but from a cold-blooded financial standpoint it is an absolute no-brainer.

I grew up with a lot of Chinese and Vietnamese refugees. I’m very aware of the slurs. But, whatever you want to think. You’re the one who is going to sound like a racist asshole, not me.

Oh, and yes. It’s offensive to all Chinese because it has been used to paint them all as commies. Just use CCP. It’s more accurate and appropriate.

Negro. It means black. It differentiates from other races. It’s also really offensive. Sorry if you like the term and it’s origins. It’s still a slur.

ChiCom has been a racial slur for half a century. You still using “colored” and “gook” as well?

Because trying to keep a discussion running on 8 different topics at once just makes it run around in circles and FS has a character count limit. You look at the world as a place to fear but to many this pandemic has shown that we have common enemies and we aren’t all out to get each other. I’ve known a lot of people like you over the years so I can tell you read everything I put down here as merely a list of things you must refute because you are inflexible in thought and driven to be the holder of Truth. The ChiComs? Really? Is this 1968?

I didn’t say you were special. I said people with your condition feel like they are the only ones who can see the Truth. Canada gets to do what they want. China gets to do what they want. Who the fuck is invading us? Poor people so desperate for a better life they will put themselves in danger to get it? And don’t give me that dumb shit about them all being rapists.
.
You are a guardian of freedom? That is what I believe you kids call “cringe.” You want to be a legend in your mind, cool. Keep it there.

My state mandates that I get my car inspected every year. If I fail to comply I don’t run the risk of being “imprisoned and ultimately killed.”

I’d call that mild paranoia. Maybe citizens don’t want their fellows to be part of the problem that could get them killed. Maybe immigrants are being unfairly portrayed; the stereotype for them used to be small business owner until someone needed a faceless enemy. Maybe China can’t control everything going on within their borders any more than the US. Maybe the Canadians don’t want those guns in their country. You have to be careful when you reach a point where you believe that you are the only one who has their eyes open to the Truth. It indicates the opposite.

Your tune hasn’t changed in months. It’s one threat to liberty after another. There is term for someone who perceives everything as a threat.
.
And, dude, ChiComs in not the preferred nomenclature. “Red Chinese”, please.

Any idea what the threat will be next week so I can study up? Biden maybe? He did ask to release all the documents relating to any investigation relating to accusations against him. That transparency has got to threaten some liberty or another.
