Some of the looks were different styles of traditional dress called lehengas, and some of them were actual dresses, with Indian embroidery. Both of these are common in India, and not every traditional look is a saree. also, vogue is a high fashion magazine that showcases designers who add modern details to their clothes. The dresses Kim wore were typical of what Indian models wear in magazines. It's not disrespectful, since Indian designers chose to style her that way. Not every outfit from India is a saree.
