I meant that in the year 1500 BC, the polity that this person belonged to was Elam (not modern ethnicity Elamite). Elam was the name of the name of the area before its Persian conquest. This artifact is Elamite, not Persian, not Iranian. Just as an old Navajo artifact isn't a piece of US history.

I think what guest meant was that this didn't happen in Iran. It happened in Elam. Iran is a modern name for a modern country. The person who carved this was not Iranian. I think guest has a valid point- I mean you wouldn't say that events in pre-Columbus Native American history happened in the USA.

@spookykink57 the "frocks and dresses" you're talking about were not sarees. Some of the looks were different styles of traditional dress called lehengas, and some of them were actual dresses, with Indian embroidery. Both of these are common in India, and not every traditional look is a saree. also, vogue is a high fashion magazine that showcases designers who add modern details to their clothes. The dresses Kim wore were typical of what Indian models wear in magazines. It's not disrespectful, since Indian designers chose to style her that way. Not every outfit from India is a saree.
