I agree with everything, except your choice of the word alternate. That's how the pseudoscience crowd gets their foot undeservedly in the door with their alternative evidence and alternative facts.
If you have "alternative evidence" that challenges the status quo, that isn't cherry picked or biased, that's not alternative evidence. That's evidence.

So... earlier this past year when Covid first started getting bad and a little scary, I was at a liquor store near closing. An employee brought out a wheelie bin to collect trash from the registers and the cans at the door.
It rattled and clattered, making a hell of a racket as it rolled. So, like any sensable person would, she called out "bring out your dead" in a flat monotone as she went.
Dark? Oh yes. Inappropriate? Probably. Hilarious and the laugh we all needed? Absolutely.
I decided to get in on the act as I walked to the back, calling out, "I'm not dead yet," "I'm feeling better," and "I think I'll go for a waaaalk."
This made it even better and the people at the front, employees and customers alike were in stitches.

Bottom line, it's a dodge meant to avert responsability for wrong doings that essentially amount to atrocities.

:( not gonna lie, kinda jealous. Here in the states that I'm aware of, we have ONE building that can legitimately be called a castle.
Hammond Castle in Gloucester MA, built by John Hays Hammond Jr. Consitered to be the father of radio control, the castle served as his home and labratory.

And yet, the people that seriously post this to Facebook thinking it's an insult, are the same snowflakes that start crying "war on Christmas" when you point out that it's a pagan holiday the Christians stole and it is entirely possible to celebrate it secularly.
It's like, you can almost wrap your noggin around it.
