And then you have my kid, who got the question: "Did the match go well?" while he was eating. He looked thoughtful, chewed, held up a finger, chewed, 30 seconds passed, chewed a bit more while looking around, finally swallowed and says, "Yes." Unwitting comic genius.

Thanks, but it's minimal, sadly. I'm so frustrated :-( And sad for him! He won't have that wonderful experience of falling into a book and living the words, feeling the emotions of those ephemeral characters.

Nice try. We are only our kids' biggest influence up to school age as a maximum. I read all the time, from proper books usually. I read to myself and I have always read daily to my kid. He is a screen addict, has never voluntarily read in his life.

That is a really good idea. As a parent you get to teach budgeting and responsibility and STILL come off as the good guy at the end

The amazing artist Alexander Glenfield recorded throat singing for the soundtrack.

This gave me a bit of hope for the future. My son is a game addict and I struggle to balance what is appropriate free time doing what he wants to relax vs crossing the boundary to addictive behavior. As long as he manages his other "musts" e.g. schoolwork, training, chores I try to let him do his thing although I worry terribly about it. I usually ask him who he's online with and shout out a hello and ask when they are coming over for dinner/sleepover next. My son rolls his eyes and he and his friends chuckle over his loud, embarrassing mom but maybe I'm doing the right thing.
