I come from not too far away from there. And I've stood in Plymouth harbor where there is a plaque dedicated to the Roanoke colonies (see my upload).
But have you seen this? Perhaps the colonists have at last been found:

One of these little boys had taken to perching on a small projection on my roof. He cheeps and chirps most energetically, but alas no ladies have yet swiped right. I really don't want baby sparrows under my roof tiles, but he is so perseverantly hopeful that I can't help rooting for him.
