If it's life or death, being called a pussy for the rest of your life is worth being able to walk away alive :/ Most martial arts clubs tell you to run away from a street fight if possible. As for killing or fatally wounding someone, again, if it's life or death, anything goes.

It's correct, but you won't have the time to wrap your hands in a situation where you're forced to fight, presumably a street fight. If you know the techniques, you're better set.
