He's doing what the majority of people who run for president are doing. He's looking for publicity. If you run for president it's like opening yourself to media attention which could expand or destroy your political career.

In theory a one size fits all approach to anything, especially education, is meant to keep everyone on par with each other. In the case of education though it is often that thinking that causes more issue than anything. It forces those that are behind and/or unable to keep pace with the rest of the school system to move one without fully understanding the subject matter. This method also heavily suppresses those that are advanced by teaching them and forcing them to stay at a lesser level than what they should be at. Education is a must but a one size fits all is a terrible way to go about it.

In reference to the dog one, dogs are technically omnivores so that may not kill them but, like many humans and other omnivores, meat is the primary source of their nutrients and energy and so to take that away could be very detrimental to the dogs health.

Creationism should only be allowed to be taught in schools if it's a private school or if it's a non-mandatory class in public education. Another stipulation should be that rather than just teaching one religions beliefs on creation, it should discuss the beliefs of multiple other world religions. This could, in theory, help to reduce prejudices and misunderstanding about one and another's beliefs.
