A lot of people get bullied but rarely do they call the cops, which means she was probably scared for her life. And by the time the police reached there they saw her pushing the bullies back with a knife in her hand. They saw that Bryant had a knife and instead of engaging in all the lethal forces they had, they shot her. Four times.
She did not need to die.
