Actually the guy in the picture looks perplexed by the quote... like being a gentleman seems like a lot of effort

Maybe the cat got the dog in on the revenge. The dog was probably just so happy to be included.

All in all, I just don't understand why people are so opposed to the concept of positive body image. Like what do they care if a heavy/ short / bald / freckled person chooses not to be filled with self loathing everytime they look into the mirror

I have literally no idea why it is so upsetting that an adult wrote an article to help other adults talk to teens. (Also yes, sociology is largely generalization about of cultures and subcultures)

Really I think the thing she is missing is previous generations tended not to bother to understand, but just criticized the upcoming generation. She is offended by the effort.

Each generation has it's own culture due to the climate in which they grew up. That's just sociology. The author of the article is offended by one generation trying to understand another generation in it's own way.

...on the flip side, have you considered the "adults" are trying to find the best way to coexist with the upcoming generation which has its own culture and values.

I don't disagree. I just think opponents of body acceptance always haul out women who are basically fight a mental illness and say positive body image is just lazy people not wanting to diet.

Images Jesus (and Buddha) tend to show ethnic characteristics of the culture in which it was created. To my knowledge their is no Catholic standard for the image of Jesus.

I'm not sure why "body acceptance" is associated with middle age obese women. The original focus was for vulnerable preteens/ teenagers, inundated with images of what they should look like from magazines and movies.

Telling someone they are a piece of crap will not resolve the situation, especially not in customer service. It's just not worth it. Either they are having a bad day or they are a horrible person. Being rude won't fix either one.
