*sigh* Smoking them is a more direct delivery. Hits faster buts doesn't last as long. Also, it bypasses the stomach (more on that in a minute). Eating them takes a few minutes for them to kick in but it lasts a lot longer. The downside is that shrooms are actually slightly poisonous and can cause you to throw up. By smoking them you are essentially preventing yourself from vomiting and controlling how hard the trip is.

Probably not, but that is why it is a social experiment not a true experiment. There is no way to realistically control how many of each religion will come by. Many times with social experiments the experimenter will assume, due to probability, that a number of people representative of the population of each group will come by if he sits there long enough. It's a version of random sampling.
