Clubbing was one of those activities we did because we were SUPPOSED to enjoy it, not that we actually did. Loud, gross restrooms, smelly obnoxious people, expensive drinks...not many redeeming factors. I was always relieved leaving the clubs.

Can confirm. Growing up, 2000 had an almost mystical ring to it. It was always "The Year 2000"...never just 2000. We were really expecting flying cars and Jetsons-like convenience. It hurts to remember that it was 24 years ago now.
