I hear that if the Earth were the size of an apple, the troposphere (lower atmosphere, reaching far above mountains) would be thinner than the appleskin. So not much difference to a sphere.

Remember the old computer game series "Myst"? It felt like a revolutionary advancement in virtual reality, with the click-based movement through static viewpoints. Now we have sites like this. Basically a real world version of the Myst interface. Isn't that COOL?!

I prefer the YYYY-MM-DD format, for naming computer files and such so it is sorted by date just with the default alphanumeric sorting.
It's much more confusing if May 28th comes directly after April 28th.

It's more of a squashed sphere, because the rotation around its axis pushes outwards more at the equator.

Surely if the Earth is flat, you should have a perfectly to scale 2D world map for it? Because our maps of a 3D spherical Earth needs many different representations of the 3D sphere shape, called projections. Do you have an accurate 2D map?
