I didn't bring it up because it wasn't pertinent to my point. And yes men are subjected to that and I'm sure they are treated poorly but the odds of a guy getting raped is around 1 in 71 whereas a woman is 1 in 5. I was never talking about equality I didn't even mention the word. And as for not doing anything I have PERSONALLY put myself between a woman who was slapping the shit out of her boyfriend so don't sit there and tell me nobody would do anything. My dad has worked in hospitality for decades and has called the cops on more than one woman who was hitting their husbands/boyfriends.

Metalman I'm pretty sure most people would step in if they saw some chick wailing on a guy with a bloodied face. And might I remind you that (female) rape victims are still treated as if they made it up or brought it on themselves by a good amount of law enforcement. In Phoenix last year an issue came to light where thousands of rape kits had not been processed. It wasn't due to the lab being backed up, the officers working these cases simply didn't bother to pursue them or "forgot". Does that sound pampered to you?

I never understood why people fear moths, they're just fat, fuzzy, dull colored butterflies. That being said though if this monster was batting against my face in the middle of the night I'd probably scream.

Ok so the problem I have with this line of logic is this; murder and theft are universally seen as wrong, there is no societal stigma saying that these things might be ok if the person was dressed a certain way. And yet these things happen, a lot. And you don't hear a whole lot of "teach kids not to murder" because it has been widely accepted that there will always be people who murder and the best we can do is teach people some preventative measures. I'm not saying that we shouldn't work harder to teach kids (male and female) to respect other peoples' bodies and right to say no, I'm just saying that it is probably a bad idea to abandon preventative measures because no matter how much rape rate declines it will always be there just like murder and all of the other atrocities that people commit.

That's how humans learn language too, your parents hold a ball to your face while saying "ball" and then you eventually learn that that noise is indicative of that object. Just because he doesn't have a complex understanding of language doesn't mean he isn't learning language.
