You can do what you want but abstinence education in lieu of proper sex education does not usually work. One of my friends from out of state had an abstinence only education and dozens of girls got pregnant in her class and who knows how many stds were going around. A friend from another state received thorough sex education that just encouraged abstinence and according to her only one girl in her class got pregnant, these schools were roughly the same size by the way. Also getting married before sex is like buying a car without test driving it. Sure for a lot of people it works out great but I've also known more than one divorced woman who waited only to find that their prince charming was an un-attentive and sometimes even abusive person in bed. Sex is a large part of a relationship to leave to chance, if that is how you want to do it I respect that but don't act like it is the only acceptable way and don't try to force on kids that aren't yours.

Cool! I have 2 Delawares, 1 production red, 1 ameracauna, 1 barred rock, and 1 crevecouer that was supposed to be a barred rock but turned out to be a relatively rare breed. (:

Actually I chose my name because "Superchicken" is something my sisters sometimes call me. I hand raise our backyard flock and they are basically pets. The chickens love me and generally listen to me and my sisters' explanation for that is that the chickens think I am giant super chicken. But it's probably because I raised them and understand them better then the rest of my family.

There is a breed of chicken called the Jersey Giant that is black (there is a white version but they are much less common) and they are HUGE, like the size of a small child, I saw one at the fair and he was waist high to me and I'm 5'6'. Google them some time it's pretty crazy.

When someone fatter than me gives me health advice. 10 comments

Someone giving you "health advice" you didn't ask for basically means "you're fat, and I disapprove and think you're stupid enough to not know this information." guess what fat people KNOW the concept of diet and exercise it is impossible to live in this country and NOT know because if your doctor doesn't tell you your school's PE program or the media will. Every single overweight person I've talked to finds it incredibly demeaning to be told how they should eat or exercise by someone they barely know. According to my psychology professor telling people with any kind of eating problem including anorexia "Oh you should just (insert crappy generic advice) and everything will be better!" is completely ineffectual and will often make it worse especially if it is unsolicited. Also most strangers who "care" are simply looking for a situation in which they can feel superior and express their disgust of fat people without the repercussions of being out right rude.

Unless your my doctor, friend, or family member my health is none of your business. How would you like it if people you didn't know came up to you and started telling you how to live your life all the time?

May not be the wisest thing to go after a country where a huge percentage of the civilian population is heavily armed not to mention the military.

Wanting to be a neurologist is a bit more realistic than wanting to be an astronaut. She isn't some ditz who thought "oh this would be fun" but thanks for assuming she has no idea what she's doing. Her mother has had epilepsy for decades which is what made her want to be one not just some whim. She has been getting great grades since elementary school, has her CNA certification, and has been volunteering at hospitals for years this isn't some outlandish dream because it is people like HER that become doctors because if they didn't then who could? The "advisors" are half blind old nurses who can't even keep track of who is actually IN the med programs. They called me multiple times and I am and always have been a business major which I had to tell them 6 times in each conversation. And men aren't usually "peer pressured" into lower paying positions because people don't usually doubt their intelligence with no evidence to back it up.

This is why I avoid store bought eggs and get my own from the backyard from my six fat, happy, and incredibly spoiled free range hens. If you ever get the opportunity to raise chickens, even if you only get two, do it. They are a lot of fun and are just as cuddly and intelligent as dogs if you socialize them at a young age. They're worth it and very cheap to buy and maintain, plus eggs from happy well fed chickens taste better and are better for you. (:

conservative Christians have been known to be a bit, umm, old fashioned. So perhaps at a more liberal university this wouldn't happen.

Though I find the constant feminism related posts on here irritating this is a really good video. She makes some really good points and I agree fully with her point about how real victims of sexism would be better helped by cutting the excesses and hysteria out of feminism. I will point out one thing though and this pertains to the part about women being steered in different career directions. I have a roommate who has been an excellent student her whole life and her dream is to become a pediatric neurologist. However the health professions department "counselors" have repeatedly tried to coax her into being a PA without giving a real reason. Given her grades it is probably safe to assume that their reason for being so fixated on her switching to PA has some kind of sexist origin even if only subconsciously. I have heard this happening to other female students as well. Of course I can't speak for society as a whole because this is only one university, and a Christian one at that, and
