I disagree with the platypus. The issue isn't choice, the issue is abortion. Making it about choice is a psychological trick that makes it easier to defend a pro-abortion position. There are all kinds of other things that are illegal that we could say are about "choice", but that distorts the issue.
In short, it's only about choice if you want it to be (I.e. If you're pro-choice). But for pro-lifers, it's about abortion. I think that's part of why this debate is so fruitless -- the two sides are arguing about different points.

Holy cow, why all the downvotes? I guess people on this website aren't a fan of reality. :P
We could spend all day talking about things we "should" be able to do... Like leave your car unlocked all the time, keep your shoes on as you walk through airport security, not take self-defense lessons or carry pepper spray in your purse, wear your Social Security Number on yourforehead, take a vacation to Afghanistan without the risk of being blown up or beheaded... All kinds of things. It's great to have an "ideal world" in mind where it's safe to do what you want, but don't let that stop you from living in the real world.
Just because you don't deserve something doesn't mean you shouldn't do your best to protect yourself. A bank doesn't deserve to be robbed, but that's no reason to not put in security systems. A woman doesn't deserve to be raped, but that's no reason to not be careful.

Well it is technically a risk. While these kinds of things are important, we shouldn't cut ourselves off from common sense tips like "don't walk down unlit streets alone at night." Sure you're not asking for it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't still protect yourself.

@zmatrixng maybe with a regular piece of poster paper? Idk I'm just thinking out loud.
I definitely agree with the above that the way he's doing it suggests that he cared more about having emotional impact than he did about making a real point. But hey, that's how propaganda works anyway.

Bah. You're just looking at the downsides of having kids. I know I've never in my life met a couple who wished they had waited longer before having kids. Sure there will always be other things you could do, but life is short, and we just won't have time to do everything we want to do anyway, so we have to make priorities. We have to forego some good things so we can have better things. And children should always be the number one priority in any family, if you ask me.

But you don't want to bring your kids along in all your adventures? That seems kinda selfish. I disagree. Besides, having a family is the greatest adventure of all. Why would you want to do it later if you can do it sooner?

Always nice when a big business tries to market itself on social issues. We support gay marriage, so come eat our ice cream!

So because they all claim to be right, none of them are. Forgive me, but I'm not seeing the logical validity of that assumption. Atheism is a claim too, so wouldn't that have the same problem?

I went to South Africa as a missionary a couple years back. When I entered the country, the first thing the gate agent said to me was "we need you very badly". I guess not everyone agrees, balonyman. :P

That's pretty sick. What kind of religious environment did you grow up in? They dared to call themselves "Christian"? How did they justify that?

SSM = Same-sex marriage. Sorry, I thought that was more common.
I see what you're saying, but I don't see how that distinction matters. Indoctrination is indoctrination, regardless of what you are being "indoctrinated" with.
That's all besides the fact that most Christians don't teach their children to hate or judge anyway. And in my personal conversations, most people who oppose teaching religion to children just talk about how it's allegedly wrong to put opinions into children's minds before they're old enough to form their own. It seems like that would apply either way. I'm just thinking out loud though.

Has anyone else noticed that when you try to teach children that SSM is a positive thing, you get praised as a hero, but when you try to teach them that it's a negative thing, you get accused of indoctrination?
I guess double-standards aren't really that bad once you get used to them though...

All because modern art is more of a snobby elitist community than anything else. They pay $40 million for a painting not because it's worth that much, but so that can say that this painting is worth that much. Don't bother trying to make it make sense.
