Well, Peta does have a cult like belief that man is the source of all evil and suffering, and that spreads to whatever they domesticated. Just to be clear, that is a gross overgeneralization of Peta, but never forget they euthanize animals out of the principle of "It's can't suffer if it's dead".

It's not as simple as one thinks it is. Yes, men desire their wet dream made manifest. Do they understand that this is not a realistic expectation to have of every woman? Maybe, but that doesn't stop people from trying to look good and trying to find someone who looks good.
Ha, you thought we actually meant that?! 1 comments

The problem of a treaty is expecting the one with more power to adhere to the terms. Even powers who seem equal will jockey for some way to gain definite advantage, so they can violate it with impunity since the math works out in their favor then.
Pretty optimistic, isn't it ? 1 comments

Yamato had plenty of aircraft guns after the Japanese were educated by their ships sinking via planes. She went from having 24 AA guns to 150 across her decks, but they didn't have any sort of radar assistance aiming them, so it was kind of moot when you couldn't coordinate your fields of fire to shoot down planes. She reportedly only took out 10 planes during her final moments despite the increased presence of the AA guns. It still took the presence of 200-300 planes to down her, but the AA was mostly underwhelming overall.

Ironically, I'm pretty sure they were the ones who found out saline solutions can be injected to combat dehydration. And that was about the only thing that has had any real application beyond gruesome torture.

People forget Russia had beef with Japan going back to even before WW1. Or that Russia stomped down all the way to Berlin, and saw no reason to change that mode of operation when they set their sights on Japan until the US of A demonstrated that they could literally press the extinction button multiple times.

I fail to see how any of these 3 statements are incompatible or have more truth than the other.

Mansa Musa, the guy who was the richest guy in the whole world would be an interesting figure to have documentary/movie about his life.

To be fair, the Red Army was completely different after the Winter War. Helps when you realize you gulaged or executed all the actually competent military commanders and kinda need them to help win wars.

The cold sucked, but in the summer the tundra sucked when the dust was kicked up by moving vehicles whose engines choked as a result, and it sucked in the spring rains where the "roads" turned into mud pits.

Unless I didn't read enough Halo Lore, Cortana was not the first "Smart" A.I. She was just the first one we know of that was created from a clone's brain of Halsey.

Yeah, but I walk into anywhere with a mask like that, no one screams "It's the Dread Pirate Roberts!", it's "Sir, we have a mask policy, that does not qualify as a suitable mask to enter our premises."

What you see in the picture is how the foundations of a bridge over water can be laid. you build a wall going all the way down to the bed of the body of water and pump all the water out.

Don't worry, if it turns out the way it's supposed to, in maybe hundreds of years to a thousand you will be celebrated for going green for having massacred millions of people and reduced the carbon output significantly.

I think this would only reinforce negative perceptions of the other. It's a broad assumption that doesn't fit every individual and is as such flawed, but if you're on a subreddit complaining that no one wants to be around you in a romantic long term relationship, you might not find a stable reliable partner as you might end up dating a version of yourself you would not want to be around.

What are you saying, tokenism is just a form of racism that people have unknowing or knowingly made acceptable? No no, that can't be the case, race is obviously the metric by which all persons should be judged.
