God damnit Saudi Arabia 2 comments

Saudia Arabia also imports sand from a small Swedish coast town called Simrishamn. (It's used for purifying water, and the Swedish sand is apparently better for that. But the story is funnier if you don't mention that detail!)

In norse mythology, it's he who brings the end of the world 15 comments

I don't think Ragnarok (or Ragnarök, using the nordic spelling) is a person, but rather the name for the apocalypse in nordic mythology. But it's one hell of an apocalypse, so it'd be awesome to see a movie about it!

I'm pretty sure he confirmed the exact opposite; that it was just a rumor. He said something about the rest being up to the reader.

Correcting Conductor on fortune cookies 9 comments

I understand what you mean, but in my defense, as explained in an earlier comment, fortune cookies did originate in Japan, even though the ones we know developed in California. The other meme had a poor choice of words, I'll admit that. I'll try to do better in the future :)

Sorry, English isn't my first language :P I always though "ape" was another word for "primate that's not human". Thanks for correcting me! :D

Correcting Conductor on fortune cookies 9 comments

Wikipedia states it like this: "The exact origin of fortune cookies is unclear, though various immigrant groups in California claim to have popularized them in the early 20th century, basing their recipe on a traditional Japanese cracker. Fortune cookies have been summarized as being "introduced by the Japanese, popularized by the Chinese, but ultimately ... consumed by Americans."
