I've had this exact conversation with my dad on more than one occasion, and somehow I ended up in the same profession as him.

I came so close to the edge that I was checked into a mental health treatment center for psychiatric stabilization (paranoid schizophrenia, bipolar, ocd). You may just be in a rut right now or what you're experiencing may be indicative of something deeper like depression.

I've been there. Maybe not exactly where you are, but I've felt hopeless, and worthless. I got help and I got better. I'm not saying you need help, but it can't hurt.

That's a big burden to bear by yourself. Just know that you don't have to go it alone.

He did not. And she told some staff people at St. Johns and apparently threw a drink at him.

I also object to the notion that a statements legitimacy is in any way influenced by the innate characteristics of the person who said it.

He's a pretty polarizing person, I guarantee he gets harassed. I'd even bet he's received death threats.

For me the outcome would be the same in both situations... Get scared, start to panic, have a panic attack, hyperventilate, have an asthma attack and then either pass out or succumb to the sweet release of death.

In 1968, less than a year from a presidential election, Chief Justice Warren, fearing that Nixon would be elected president, decided to retire before the upcoming election. President Johnson nominated Associate Justice Abe Fortas to become the new Chief Justice and Homer Thornberry, a liberal congressman, to become a new Associate Justice.
The nomination met opposition in the Senate, with senators calling on President Johnson to allow the next president to make the choice instead. They filibustered successfully and Johnson withdrew the nomination. Richard Nixon won the election, and following his inauguration named Warren E. Burger to replace Chief Justice Warren.
That was the only time in the last 100 years that a President attempted to nominate a Supreme Court justice this close to an election.
Until now.

But seriously, folks... There has never been any school of economists who believed in a trickle down theory. No such theory can be found in even the most voluminous and learned books on the history of economics. It is a straw man.

While I do believe that college athletes deserve some sort of compensation, they receive far more than just a scholarship. Their "benefit package" consists of the things they would have to provide for themselves, were they not on a collegiate sports team. This includes things like the stadium and world class facilities they use, travel to and from games, televised matches, etc.

Everything you mentioned is valid, but I don't think Obama's policies had anything to do with the turnaround. His fiscal and monetary policies don't really differ from Bush's. It's not a slight on him, but markets expand and contract cyclically and he benefitted from that.

I think this post is referencing the CEO to worker pay gap that many people cite as proof that executives are compensated too highly. While people deride companies whose CEOs make 10, 20, or 30 million, it seems like no one is going after performers, movie stars, or athletes.

I have no problem with registration either, some oversight is good.
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the taxis were government-funded, more that currently they enjoy something resembling a monopoly because they are government protected.
