Actually July 1 is the 182nd day of the year. But 365/2 = 182.5, which is why you have until noon on July 2.
Also, since I started the year in one timezone, but I'm now in a different timezone 3 hours behind, I'm actually hitting the halfway mark at 9am instead of at noon.

I think it's just a representation that they really cared. I'd rather have two friends who will always be there for me and vice versa than have ten friends who I can't ever count on.
