I wouldn't say mind blown... It was glaringly obvious when watching it that it was basically just Ep IV copied and pasted. I enjoyed the movie, but this was one of the biggest things that gave it a low rank in my mind.

And the co-director confirmed this fan theory a few months ago. Apparently they were going to reveal it at the end of the movie, but that scene got cut in the end.
