Not chair, but my keyboard is from 2006 and my monitor is from 2008-ish. Both are Still going so strong I have no reason to even consider replacing them.

Laying on your back is tiring because, while a single book does not a workout make, holding like, 800+ pages above you as you read can make your arms sore.
And laying on your stomach seems fine until your shoulders and neck get tired from bending back to keep your head above the book.
I just don't enjoy it much, I much prefer sitting to laying.
