Why do bots have stars now? -facepalms-
Oh well. Since I'm here anyway, a question for you guys: who on FS actually likes driving stick? I've been with my manual camaro for two years, and can't envision going back to automatic ever again.

...Really? I'm nearly six foot one, and fighting fit (literally-- I'm a martial artist) at 155.
I put your proposed measurements into a smart BMI calculator and received this result:
"The calculation of the body mass index is based on a height of 6 feet (183 cm) and a weight of 200 pounds (90.7 kilogrammes).
BMI = 27
Your body mass index (BMI) is calculated as exactly 27.1 kilogrammes per square metre.
Health aspects
Your weight is at a somewhat elevated level; in our view, it may be less than optimal for your health. By classification of the WHO, you are "overweight".
Your body fat mass seems to be a slightly above average. But health ought not be affected provided your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels remain at moderate values. This could be more likely if you have a higher muscle mass and a lower amount of body fat."
Here's the link, if you wanna try. https://www.smartbmicalculator.com/
.
Out of genuine curiosity, what brings you to your conclusion?

When my dad first met my mum's family, one of the first thing my uncle (mum's little brother) said to him was, "Have you heard her sneeze?"
Nothing whatsoever against mum, but it was a perfectly fair question. I've heard airplanes taking off that rate lower on the decibel scale than her gale-force sneezes.

Well, it's no good perpetuating stereotypes... Why not ask her instead why she thinks it matters? If you go deep enough, you're bound to find either a good reason she thinks that way, a good way to persuade her otherwise, or a good excuse to not continue your conversation any further. Kinda like asking why a sexist joke is funny-- people get awkward as hell trying to explain it, heh.
.
Incidentally, don't forget the weight thing can also be relative to height. I'm 155 lb, which is probably considered pretty damn heavy for the average woman, but ain't much more than muscle and bone for a six foot Amazon. ;P

The bandwagon they see rolling along because...
-it's considered cool or fun
-they find the standing joke amusing and want to contribute to it
-it's the human condition to be predisposed toward that to which we were first introduced (in this case, the notion that tall is good, short is bad.) IRL, this vicious cycle does not ostensibly exist, or at least to such an extent...
A third possibility is that the majority of women do indeed prefer taller over shorter guys, but are simply subtle about it. They demonstrate their preference by choice of partner instead of obvious and relatively unnecessary jokes about the fact: deeds, not words. Of course, some combination of all of the above may be correct... Or none. Hehe.

Sorry for nerding out ^-^'

Speaking anthropologically, there might be several interpretations of your observation. It could be a function of the irl social groups in which you circulate. On the internet, it's a running joke that women hate short guys, obviously-- which may be because women feel they can come out and say that with little to no real-life repercussion. Even when people know who you are, there's still a degree of anonymity, or at least separation from daily life. IRL, however, such observations are generally kept in confidence between groups of female (or even gay) friends. Just like any decent and/or intelligent guy wouldn't go about declaring his disdain for small-chested women for all to hear, not many women broadcast their dislike of short men to the world at large. It helps avoid unnecessary conflict and maintain others' opinions of the person in question.
There's also the option that the 'short' hate is a self-perpetuating cycle. People with no real opinion one way or the other might jump on

I have nothing whatsoever against shorter guys. They can't help their height any more than I can-- speaking as a girl who's nearly 6'1-- and are people just like anybody else. :P

Okay, I honestly don't blame you. My first time hearing Despacito was last spring-- it was my first semester of Spanish class, and I (being an enormous bloody swot) had decided to listen to the radio en español every day to improve my skills. Despacito came on when I was in the car, and I was jamming along picking out the words I knew-- until it got to "Quiero desnudarte a besos despacito." /I want-- I want to do something slowly-- a besos, that's 'with kisses,' right? Desnudarte... Desnudar you... I want to something you slowly with kisses.../ Thus was my thought process.
.
Needless to say I looked up the full translation when I got home. I still remember the pain of falling out of my chair from laughing so hard-- and I'm still amazed that they actually played it on a spanish-speaking station. It fucking /earned/ its place on my playlist, where it resides to this day...

The music only swells, and the screen fades to black from a view of the Doge’s fiercely ecstatic face. Whatever comes next… This was worth it.
