I don't know why you got down voted, but I didn't really understand what you said above. Now that you explained it I do :)

As a woman I can confirm this post is true, I hate it when people do this. It's like hey, my emotions are valid, and I am allowed to have them. Even if I am on my period, that just means my bullshit tolerance is reduced. Your's would be too!

Could you show us examples of the court cases and sentencing double standards that you are citing which these double standards exist? I would really like to read the examples where they have taken place. Thank you for your sources!!

No, you definitely aren't. Others chose to put their own interpretations on it, thus happened the above discourse. I'd be confused too...

...You're the one that declared your single nature in a previous post.... The same way Chance said he was in a ltr and has two sisters. I suppose being the raving nutso that I am means I remember what people say. That's crazy of me, having a memory of reality.... Lol, I will go sign up for my rubber room right now....

The flaw in that plan is Chance has a girlfriend and you'd have to be able to actually get close enough to one of us to touch. Which hasn't been working out for you so far, and while I am no seer, I don't forsee your luck in that department changing (:
There's always video games and the internet. Good luck!

From what I have seen many things frighten and confuse you- strong women being just one of many. I take your fear as a compliment =)

I saw this post, which is the third or fourth bashing feminism in the last two days, and didn't even have to click the comments before I knew our friendly FunSub feminist would be down in the thick of it. And look, more feminists! We're spreading... soon more will have stars...muhaha

That is a ridiculous comment. Unless you work in a commission based job, your salary is established when you are hired. Women don't make less because they "are not as good at their jobs," it's a bias that is established as soon as they are hired.

Lol, this picture and title is only made better by the fact it took the resident feminist of FunSub to explain what it actual is. Irony in cupcake form (:(:(:(:

You really think.they intended that list to be given to rapists to tell them not to rape? It's social commentary, not meant to be taken literally. Unlike this list, which is meant to be taken literally and is 99% lies, and dangerous http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/ninetips.asp

....if you Google any of these "helpful facts," you can see that they are urban legends and hugely distorted facts- which all that does is scare women, further frightening them and making them isolate themselves. How is -that- helpful?

They had stopped talking about it, days ago. I understand your words better now that I know you didn't actually know what they were talking about, that makes a large difference.
There is a lot to be said for examining what you tolerate- different people have different levels they are willing to accept. You don't have to justify yours to me or anyone else, and I don't have to justify mine to anyone either. Personally the day I started standing up for myself and what mattered is when I took my life back. It's how I heal.
I agree this forum has served it's purpose, and it's time to move on. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

He did not tell her to get raped as a joke, he told her to get raped because she spoke out against him using sexual assault humor. That is a big difference. Women are made yo fear rape all the time, we have to always be aware that there is a possibility that maybe today, maybe tomorrow, we or our sister or are friend will be raped. Look here, three women, all have been raped. Yet men still think it's not a big thing, that they can use it to shut women up who they don't agree with. They can use it to threaten what they know we fear. So no, it's not even.

I don't believe there is anything that is more hateful or done with more ill will than wishing rape on someone. By turning around and telling that person look, you just wished rape, you rape wished you, what does that make you? I don't see that as hate- that is a mirror. I hope they are so offended. Deeply. Because words matter, and being held accountable for them is something they should learn. If they are offended, don't use the threats.

I am glad you weren't upset by it. I asked Saviourself to post that graphic that was commented on from a message board she runs for survivors of sexual assault, which is why it had the title it did.

I am sorry that happened to you. Me too, I've been getting help though. It's not this post they are talking about, he told another woman to "get raped" on a post a few days ago.

There are jokes like this one point out absurdity, they shed light on what’s wrong with rape—what they don’t do is threaten. And that’s what therz did. Told an offensive joke, told the woman she must be the rape victim if she did not find it funny, and then told her to get raped. That is all- just want to stop my favorite comedian from being used in some sick rape solidarity moment - as you all were.

I have been lurking this thread and think the the guest is hilarious, but I wanted to add the whole text of the Carlin joke, because ZM waay missed the point:
-
"Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd. See, hey why do you think they call him “Porky,” eh? I know what you’re going to say. “Elmer was asking for it. Elmer was coming on to Porky. Porky couldn’t help himself, he got a hard-on, he got horny, he lost control, he went out of his mind.” A lot of men talk like that. A lot of men think that way. They think it’s the woman’s fault. They like to blame the rape on the woman. Say, “she had it coming, she was wearing a short skirt.” These guys think women ought to go to prison for being cock teasers. Don’t seem fair to me."
