Working in a male-dominated job. Women working in occupations where they are a small minority, particularly in very physical environments (Willness, Steel, and Lee 2007) or environments focused on traditionally male-oriented tasks (Fitzgerald et al. 1997), may also be especially vulnerable to harassment and assault. In a survey from the early 1990s, close to six in ten women working in construction report being touched or asked for sex (LeBreton and Loevy 1992). In another study from 2013, three in ten women construction workers report experiencing sexual harassment daily or frequently, with similar numbers reporting harassment based on sexual orientation, race, or age (Hegewisch and O’Farrell 2015).

My late uncle was supposed to be the first gerber baby, but my grandfather was away at war and my grandmother was afraid to sign anything without him there... my mom still has the contract in a lock box

That happens in Delco, Pennsylvania on State Route 420. It goes all the way from Springfield to Philly and it's the most stolen signage in the state. They have traffic cams that see almost every sign now.

13 days. And it was for healthcare, not to take more money for something that had a dedicated budget already.
I live through that one too.

When you work in federal law Enforcement or federal corrections, YOU CAN'T TAKE ANY TIME OFF OR NOT GO TO WORK, BUT YOU DONT GET PAID.
It's not a layoff, I'm still working.

It's adequate when we're not in shutdown. I am overqualified for the private sector, or I would.

I know how taxes work, I'm not dense. However, not getting paid for almost a month now, and getting nailed on the next check, whenever it comes, is a problem when you have to now wait until NEXT YEAR to get that back.
And I've already been through a shut down, it doesn't completely even out. And we can't make any adjustments to our withholdings as there is NO ONE CURRENTLY WORKING TO PROCESS IT.
It's not that it "bothers me" it infuriates me, as it's distressing my life. My livelihood shouldn't depend on the whim of a man-child throwing a tantrum.

At tax time, it might even out. However with as many checks as are going to be paid together, you get hit in a higher tax bracket and actually get less than you are supposed to have taken home after taxes. Already behind and it doesn't make up for not getting paid. I don't make much more than the private sector, but I do have a pension.

Once I get paid after this shutdown, I will get fucked with taxes. It's hard to catch up when you've used what you saved to keep paying your bills.
Imagine working your regular 60 hours a week and just watching your bank account slowly drain without anything going in. Not everyone is being paid 50% more than the private sector, some of us are still under 40k.

In uniform, if I'm under 200 I look sickly skinny since my breasts and hips/buttocks are larger.
I am also a Law Enforcement Officer, with higher muscle mass, but everyone's body is different. Under 200 as a taller female is sickly skinny for me.
Standard BMI doesn't account for a lot of factors, which is why my state wont use it for health standards.
So good for you.

Heterochromia is when you have more than one color visible in one or both eyes. Bowie had a blown out cornea making his one eye permanently dilated.

I didn't meet the love of my life until I was 29 years old. And as much as I hated the wait, he is amazing.

I love being harassed DAILY while just working in my male dominated/male accommodated job. The amount of times I've been grabbed/groped/propositioned for sex while in uniform is alarming.
