He was actually in a group to begin with. Trying to stop a local business from being looted and burned down. Because the fucks calling these peaceful protests were also calling for the defunding of the police, and the police were doing fuck all to help these businesses.

And he was "running around" putting out fires and offering medical aid. When he came near this group he said "friendly friendly" and iirc his hands were not on his rifle

One of these men threatened him and a member of his group with death if he ever caught them alone.

Because it was a clear case of self-defense most likely. The defence has cucked things up quite a bit too, but the video and testimony largely make their case for them

Unfortunately there is likely bias in the jury. It will most likely be appealed no matter what the verdict

As an aside, iirc He didn't confront them, they confronted him. Repeatedly. He was there to:
-remove graffiti
-put out fires these fuckboi's set
-offer medical aid
-keep people from harassing a business

Fired a loaded weapon either at him or in his vicinity while he was trying to get away from them. Ignored his attempts to get to the police
