In the Wizard tower there's a training dummy that doesn't attack you and you can pick fights with it a bunch if you need to

As for tank size, largely debatable. Betta live in rice paddies in the wild. Which are very shallow - but very vast - bodies of water. They end up in puddles sometimes and have adapted to survive this, but it's not really ideal

This bowl has absolutely nothing a betta needs beyond water

I think the only option would be to just try to buff the deck you have by grinding for coins

i honestly relied heavily on the animal cards overall. I had maybe 2 or 3 from the bone deck that I used, and then a couple cybers as well

Also depends a bit on your playstyle I think

i honestly barely used the Wizard cards at all. i think some of them are probably decent, but the mechanic didn't jive well with me

I found the tomb guy card useful for some of the battles though (Idr his name).

He doesn't require a sacrifice to put him on the board iirc, and then if you have bones you can click his card and generate a skeleton for every bone you have). They don't make good shields, but they can help take out some of the bombs or lower health cards, or just give you a bit more time to balance the scale until you have something better to work with

Plus tomb guy himself can double as an (admittedly weak) shield for a turn or two
