I hate when they do that too! It's not right and it makes me so mad! It's a serious mental illness and people who treat it like a joke and/or use it as an excuse are people I refuse to associate with.

You can get PTSD from anything. War isn't the only thing that can cause it. Witnessing a murder, almost being murdered (which I'm sorry you had to go through that terrible thing), being raped, car accident, really any near death experience, and other things. People who think war is the only thing that causes it is an uneducated swine.

You can be shy and not have it. Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder in which a person who is normally capable of speech does not speak in specific situations or to specific people. Selective mutism usually co-exists with shyness or social anxiety. Children with selective mutism stay silent even when the consequences of their silence include shame, social ostracism or even punishment. It's nothing new. People just tend to perceive it as shyness or rudeness.

It does stink. Especially when you're in high school because they have all these expectations and without medication it's hard to stay focused and act appropriately.

I have ADHD and I used to have depression. You don't need to get one of those scans to be diagnosed for them. I didn't get one because you could tell by the way I acted that I had/have them. ADHD is not made up and I don't like it when people say it is. I don't think they would be saying that if they had it. When I think about how I acted before medication and the way I act now, there is a HUGE difference. I pay better attention now than I did before and I'm not excessively hyper. I did take medication for my depression but it eventually got better and I no longer need it. I'm a lot happier now and my life has gotten better. :)

I learned about that yesterday in my psychology class. Up until a certain age, children don't understand things like this. It's the same if you take 10 pennies and put them into two rows of five. They will say the rows have the same number if they are the same length. If you spread one row apart so it's a little longer than the other, even though the child counted them before, said they had the same amount, and saw you spread one row apart, they will still think the row that looks longer has more. It can be frustrating when teaching a child things, but people should understand what the guest said in the last sentence of their comment. Sorry for the long comment by the way. :)

Oh, okay! Lol, it's fine! I'll do it right away! I had known they'd be opening for One Direction but I didn't bother looking them up on YouTube or anything so it really wasn't until I heard Heartbreak Girl on the radio a few weeks before the concert that I fell in love with them and their music.

Do not read this while at school. You will have a hard time fighting back tears if you do.

Haha, you're welcome and yes I have! I saw them July last year in Chicago when I went to see One Direction. I wanted to see them again in April but I don't have the money. I can't seem to find your twitter, by the way.
