Sorry if thats the case, english is not my first language so my sentence structure might be a little bad and therefore make it sound like that. Of course people do good things without caring about their legacy, I jsut feel like, and this is just how I feel, not a fact, that a lot of people who DOESNT care about legace or the afterlife, doesnt care a lot about what they do in life either. Not like all of them are suicidal or anything, but people who has all the chances and opportunities to do something great if they put some work in, but rather just take a shitty job because its the easy way out. do you get what I mean? :P

I feel a little sorry for them, garlog. Because (not saying this is how it is) I believe that if youre not concerned with what will happen when you die (religion) or how people will remember you (legacy), it feels to me like most of those people live their lives missing out on so much incredible experience. Ive worked as a volunteer to help people in need. It was one of the most amazing things Ive ever done. People usually say that, "oh grand canyon is the greatest thing Ive ever seen". And I feel sorry for that. Grand Canyon is awesome, havent been there sadly though. But I once saw a homeless person, who I can only imagine doesnt get too much comfort per day, walk in to a burning building and save a dog which had a cast and couldnt walk. Grand Canyon in all its glory, but it doesnt beat seeing a hero being born. Sorry for the long text :P

If people doesnt believe in a god or heaven/hell, maybe (like myself), they want to leave a legacy all the same. I want people to look at a photograph of me and say, "he was a good man". If I can accomplish that, then Im satisfied.

If enough witnesses confess and there is evidence, I think you can convict a bully on the point of reason for someone elses death, atleast in Sweden, I think.

What about not taking it to literally. Yes, that is the pope, which is a catholic. But the post is more about his open mind than his religious beliefs. Atleast, thats what I like to think.

You see, that's where my problem with religion is. I can't believe in something just because someone says so, even is that someone is like what, 90% of the worlds population? I need proof. I don't believe in god, and I probably never will. I'd love to be wrong tho. If I'm wrong, I win :)

Now you see that's where I get lost. As far as I have understood, god loves everyone, right? If that is the case, I assume he would like all to get into heaven. But in order to do that, you must be a good human being, and also have faith in him. In my mind, he should make some sort of "contact" to those that doesn't believe in him, in order for them to have faith. Yes, technically that wouldn't be faith, it would be knowing, but still. Then there is also those people that say that "you didn't saved that girl, god spiritually commanded you to. you don't do something unless god invokes you to." And if it like that, that we doesn't act upon our own mindset, but on what god invokes us to do, does that also mean that god invokes people to rape, murder and steal? Or would those people be invoked by Satan? You see, for me, that only sounds like excuses to make Christianity sound perfect.
Sorry for the long post, you just seemed well-read on the subject and i love a good discussion :P
