the main problem with this is that we would be required to make our voting no longer anonymous as we would need record of who voted for who to be able to have any of those who unvote for who they voted for.

If this is the incident that I’m thinking of, the mother of the man who died robbing the store was lamenting on the news that the employee that defending himself and his fellow employees should be thrown in jail for killing her son.
Another couple things I’ll point out about it is that they attempted the robbery while the store was closed, the man that died used to work there and had recently been fired, and her main reasoning for why the employee should be charged is that is that “a man who breaks the law should face a judge and go to jail not be put underground.” Idk if it was her or the news outlet that pushed the next point but it was “an employee has been charged with a crime for self defense in that state before.” The example they cited to prove that was a felon employee being charged with illegal possession of a firearm as a felon, not the actual act of defending himself which he wasn’t charged for, just having the gun in the first place.

I'm looking at you, Amazon reviewers who give a product a 1-star rating based on a 4 comments
bethorien · 3 years ago
The condition the product is in at the time of receiving it IS part of the product. The product reviews section isn’t there to be gatekept such that only pristine perfect examples of the product are allowed to be reviewed, it’s there to give you an idea of what item you’ll actually receive is like so you know if you want to purchase it and being damaged on arrival is important information when deciding if you’ll buy it or not.
If you want to have some weird quirky principle about reviewing a product as it’s meant to exist that’s your jazz but it’s entirely on you to ignore a bunch of reviews saying it arrives damaged and any complaints about such after such ignoring is entirely your own fault.

the fact they teased us with the usual "shows the number of the next episode at the end" and then just never releasing a next episode still makes me sad

Because the thing the front magnet I attached too would have to be heavier than the car for the car to move, at which point the car moving forward wouldn’t cause the front magnet to move forward because the thing it’s attached to is heavier than the car. So you’ve got 2 failure states.
1. The car is heavier than the front magnets housing thing, in which case the front magnet gets pulled back into the car and then stops and nothing moves.
2. The car is lighter than the front magnets housing thing, in which case the car moves forward, it’s magnet hits the front magnet, stops, and nothing moves.

you could argue that, while not incompetent as a teacher, he failed one test of competency by forgetting his wolfsbane potion, by the book explanation seemingly forgetting to take it as it was in-front of him

The defense against the dark arts position was cursed, no one competent would be willing to go into it because it was actually literally really cursed

You mean the same schools where some schools closed out of panic that some children came home having traded masks like Pokémon cards?

Depending on what you call a robot that’s already happened. There has been a case of a person being strangled by the cord of a sex toy.

I mean, if you are willing to attribute an ancient act of now dead people who happened to share a religion with modern people and attribute that act to Muslims as a whole, that’s kinda defeating the point of saying to not attribute more modern acts of often now dead people who happen to share a religion with modern people to Muslims as a whole.
Every religion has fanatics, every religion has terrorists and murderers and crazy evangelicals who cause death on large scales. To say positive things done by members of group are group credit but negative things aren’t is really dishonest.

Easier to clean up too, won’t have to go looking for a dead rat rotting in the walls from poison or rotting on a glue trap, just a bit of blood and a very loud bang to tell you exactly where the now dead mouse is.

i mean technically we did evolve "masks." Our noses run off of the same principle as masks, putting layers of material to filter the air you breath in through hair and mucus to protect you. This is why some covid tests give false positives, itll detect covid bits in your nose that have been trapped in your mucus and havent infected you because your body's natural "mask" worked correctly. Just like any piece of worn equipment be it a hat, sunglasses, a shoe, a shirt, etc its there to improve the defenses your body already has against outside effects be it the sun, covid, debris in their air, rocks on the ground, or whatever else.

idk that doesnt look too awful, its like the various bits of english that dont fit perfectly into how its written like double vowels followed by gh.
oi being wa/wu is similar to Oui being pronounced "wee", its similar characters making similar sounds, Eaux making the O sound is also kinda "normal" like even english borrowed portmanteaux from french and uses eaux to make the o sound there. THe canadian prime minister justin Trudeau spells his name similarly tho im guessing dropping the X is a Quebec dialect thing, either that or adding an X is an english thing done for writing french idk. The s making a sound similar to Z isnt that far fetched either.
