Imagine how dazzling they looked before the hand polished, virtually seamless, white limestone shell was worn and stolen away. Search the-great-pyramid-used-to-be-so-shiny-it-glowed for a peek.

Never knew that was a thing. Guess you have to avoid a lot of obvious sources-pizzas, pasta sauces and Chinese plates, but are the spores ever an issue?

West Lebanon N.H. is over 5425 miles from Beirut, so probably only minor damage. I just hope this doesn't trigger those fish to start stress smoking.

@coldpasta Found a reference to it in the Bangalore Mirror. It looks like a pile of pine needles when it's not hiding out on its usual haunt, some mango leaves. They mention that you could easily miss some when collecting mango leaves for Ugadi(South Indian New Year-evidently the leaves can be cooked and eaten). They also say, and I quote, "Make no mistake, touching one of these will cause intense irritation for hours." So avoid helping to collect and cook mango leaves and you should be fine.

My wife works for an international shipping organization. The company pipeline said their offices at the port were obliterated but the employees had left for the day 20 minutes earlier. Hope they were well on their way home by then.

If you followup on the site that @darkness_within posted, you'll find dozens of other apps, that like TikTok, require parents to either proscribe or monitor closely. It's the double edged sword of our 20 year old connected reality. Predators of all types can prey from behind a keyboard. Pervs, con men and scammers abound, and it's up to us, as individuals and parents, to remain vigilant for ourselves and our kids.

The story might be interesting, if it wasn't bullshit. Just search for teenager-sue-parents-naming-gaylord-fact-check/ It was originally posted on World News Daily Report, which has the following disclaimer:
"WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle."

I used to watch Route 66, so this colorized version is equally nostalgic. :)

Australia's best weatherman before he left my local station to go national. 3 comments
carbontech · 4 years ago
People with a great sense of humour, who find themselves in the role of local TV weathermen, are in a perfect position to exploit their gifts-a built-in audience with the freedom to colour outside the edges, a freedom that the news presenters don't enjoy. Dave Letterman and Pat Sajak are probably the most successful former weathermen, but I remember more than one of our local ones who were kind of a draw because of their shenanigans.

Great way to bring it onboard. If she doesn't die from alcohol poisoning, she'll be decanting that cognac into a wax paper carafe in short order. How elegant!

If you like this image, you can find some interesting day and night walking tours set in Osaka at Wind Walk Travel videos on YouTube. They have multiple walking tours of various neighbourhoods and are a great way to get a sense of the place.

Here's an overview of the subject, supposedly from a state perspective. Found it while looking for a series of books about an assassin who specializes in making them look like natural causes.(John Rain in books written by Barry Eisler)

Love that this has become a thing. The animals get some extra stimulation, the zoos get the PR and we get charming images like this.

The tweet was posted recently, so that 13 year lag would rule out Obama, so it must have been Bush junior.
