You are so fucking brainwashed! You really think it's the police's job to save you? No. It's their job to investigate crimes and bring in criminals for prosecution. It's their job to inform your family that some maniac killed you while the neighborhood waited for the police.

The thought process is that if there is someone to shoot the shooter, they won't kill anyone or at the very least won't be able to kill as many people. And hell, if we're lucky, they'll see the armed guards and decide not to shoot anyone in the first place. Or how about instead of removing my civil rights as an American, we take the parents of the shooters and the school system to task for not teaching kids the value of a life?
