@guest_ Your story reminded me of this time I was in elementary school. For some reason, the class was going to do a bread day and everyone was supposed to bring in a different kind of bread. Well I wanted to bring the bread that Outback makes. Now remember, this is decades ago, before ordering out from "sit down" restaurants was a thing. So my mom takes me to Outback and we walk in and just ask to buy 24 loaves of bread. They were so confused and we had to explain everything and then wait, but in the end they did provide us 24 loaves of bread. The best part: everyone else in the class just brought 1 loaf. Because 1 slice of 24 different loaves is still a lot of bread for each student. But no, I'm the idiot that brought a whole loaf for every single class mate.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I just hate the "your best is good enough" mentality because it is not always true (as some of your examples show). Also, I feel like people use the saying to excuse crappy behavior. For example, it's the kind of thing you see a parent post on social media with a pic of empty wine/beer/liquor bottles, in their pajamas, with some kind of caption that they barely attended to their kids and let them have a device all day. If you want to take a lazy day or something, fine, just don't say "it's the best I could do." Idk, personal pet peeve I guess, and I already spent way more time talking about this then I meant to lol.

While I understand the supportive/loving sentiment behind these statements, they really drive me crazy. Some standards really need to be upheld, and if your* best doesn't meet that standard, there is a problem.

This reminds me of a line in the movie Leap Year that I think is really funny. The guy breaks a chickens neck so he can cook it for dinner, and when the girl (Amy Adams) gets upset, he asks "Where did you think chicken came from?" and she replies "The freezer section."

When food is ready to be harvested, it's ready. You can't just make it wait. If those farmers don't harvest, they have nothing to sell, and then what is going to happen to them with an income? Plus, like Sophia yes, we need farms so we have food to eat.

While I like the advice, I find that products usually cost more when I go directly to the company's website. Anyone else experience the same thing?

I would say this is more of a hospital promotional saying "look what I am doing for the community" than news. In my limited personal experience living in a heavily Amish area, yes they know that COVID-19 is a thing. No they don't particularly care and aren't taking many precautions. Yes, it is spreading rapidly through their community, but with minor symptoms. I, personally, don't know of any hospitalizations or deaths in my local Amish community.

If it's a husky, I feel like it is equally plausible that he just got away. They love to run!

Listening to her descriptions of some of the scenes made the movie sound even worse which I didn't think was possible. Like she said, I worry for the girls in the movie. They are going to simultaneously get so much attention from pervs while also getting criticized/slammed for doing that movie. But most of all I worry that they are still being raised by parents that let them do it.

In the beginning months of all this craziness, someone I know mentioned that there will probably be a COVID-19 baby boom. I said "Who would try to get pregnant during a pandemic and an economic crisis?" only to find out later that she was in fact pregnant. *Awkward*

I get that, but if you think about the ingredients, it cost more than $4.99 - especially if it is fruit.

That is so cheap for one homemade pie, let alone 2. There was a little pie company in the last town I lived and pies were like $18.

I loved it in high school/college. However, I've had it a few times recently and did not think it was great. I can't decide if the quality of the food has gone down or my standards have gone up.
