What did you do

A bird flew into my window. This happens once every few months... if it's a pigeon they usually live because there is like... a nest. This wasn't a pigeon. I was awake and went outside with a trashbag in hand in case. The bird was a little yellow breasted chat... and it was twitching. I figured the best thing to do was put it out of it's misery ASAP so I quickly put it in the bag and then stomped on it as hard as I could and literally flattened it. I feel like shit.. I know it was still alive, but it was going to die without question.

I think you did the right thing. It's was better for the bird to die quickly rather than suffer for minutes/hours

I think you did the right thing, maybe a bit overkill but still the right thing.

When my friends start twitching I throw them in a bag and stomp them to death too. It's okay buddy.

@defau0lt I only went for overkill because the last time I delt with a dying animal (a possum with eyes that still haunt me) I didn't kill it with the first shot. It ran into my tire as I swerved and flattened all it's feet and it's guts were all over the place... I knew he was gonna die as well so I ran to my friends house (where I was headed), grabbed his BB gun and didn't get him in the spine as I shot him, so I had to put another there... I hated that more than anything I've ever done.

I mean you could have taken it to a vet.

The vet is always an option but idk how close you live to a vet so maybe you did the right thing

I'm looking into how much it'll cost to get this window tinted. Hopefully it can ward off birds and also cut down on the light entering my game room (where I am most of the time).... One tint, save two birds... worth it.

Move to another place where animals don't come to die mate :/

The vet wasn't an option... if it was 100% I would have been in the car and calling otw. It was twitching like I've only seen the twitch before (with the possum).. it was in the final moments of a total spinal cord collapse.

Although that would've felt absolutely horrible to do, I think it was right. It would have died with the first stomp so the death would have been quick and the bird would have suffered less. It's okay
