Unfortunately, I must agree with @scatmandingo; the new owners are simply here for the revenue. Hell, they might have even contributed to the relentless bot posts...more posts=more traffic=more money.

Also, it’s a violation of privacy. I mean, if there were an /option/ to “like” or “dislike” publicly, then it would be different. I would personally enjoy the option, if that helps.

I think it could lead to a "witchhunt" and some hipocrisy in the likes/dislikes as some would just want to be liked and therefore would express only positive opinions. It also feels a bit like being spied on.

No, just.. No?

Great idea if the aim is to drive even more people away
funkmasterrex · 4 years ago
Yeah... this is not a good idea.

It would be a good idea if you had to opt-in to use it. Otherwise, nah.
If it were on posts, just think how many bots would be listed.

I preferred it when it counted likes and dislikes. Then you could tell if maybe one or two guys are salty, or it's a legit unpopular comment.
Some of us even took pride in downvotes. My most disliked comment was -543.

Do you think some of you might care too much about the thumbs?
creativedragonbaby · 4 years ago
Oh, it’s not as if this is a thing in LITERALLY EVERY MAJOR SOCIAL MEDIA
creativedragonbaby · 4 years ago
But that’s fine, it’s cool
popsy · 4 years ago
I don't care about who down votes, but just explain your point of view. I mean the guest are going to do what the guest do. Haters are going to hate.
princessmonstertru · 4 years ago
Are you suggesting that we should care about the votes because it's on every social media?
funkmasterrex · 4 years ago
I'm with famousone, that makes more sense (More like Yahoo than FB).
The problem is this: on things like FB, unless you make it a public-public account, the only people that can thumbs up or thumbs down are people you have added.

Never care about the votes. Some times actual facts that are stated get down votes and it makes me curious as to why. I can see when some one misses the joke, or the sarcasm gets misinterpreted . I don't understand the facts getting any hate.

@popsy Sometimes, facts go against a personal belief. These people are led by irrational thought, first and foremost.

1_puma I agree. Everyone has a right to their opinion . I just want to see there view point and if the information is convincing , it could change my opinion. Not always, but once in a while. I know it happened once on here a few years ago when information that I was unaware of was brought to my attention. The meme demonized the lady that sued McDonalds for the coffee being too hot. I thought it was a bullshit money grab until a few people on here filled me in on some of the facts at trial (I hadn't followed the trial). New info, new opinion.

On a side note, that is how powerful those corporate lobbyists are with the power of suggestion.

That case I referred to happened long before I cared at all about going online. I formed my option based mostly by listening to the morning talk shows on the radio. My bad, for doing that.
