Stop buying goods manufactured in China. Convince others to do the same. Research and spread information about Chinese human rights violations.

It's well nigh impossible to ensure you aren't consuming Chinese goods. I realize that.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to help.

It can start when your nation and it's corporations move production out of factories in China and start manufacturing in country. Part of why they do it is because the cost of labor is cheap enough (read: No such thing as worker's rights, not to mention lax environmental protection laws.) to pay to have it shipped back to your local economy with profit still assured.

I've honestly been asking myself the exact same question. I don't know the answer. Right now I'm trying to spread awareness about it.

There was someone pushing for a bill to cut off go government funding for companies that support Chinese censorship - particularly in Hollywood/etc. Things like Mulan, Top Gun, Blizzard, etc.
.
If you read it and agree with it, supporting that might be a start. I can't imagine it will do much for HK itself, though

China is Africa's biggest trade partner, metal resources like cobalt, platinum, uranium, manganese. 15 billion dollars in loans for infrastructure like power utilities.

Email your congressperson and President Trump saying you want something done. They may have more possibilities, and if they know their constituants care about the issue they may get off they asses to do something. (maybe)

I've recently read a book called No logo (it's available online, I can post the link if someone is interested) and it's eye opening. There's a lot of problems with the way we currently consume, and it covers in detail what happens in sweatshops for instance. The best thing we can do is boycotting, not using the faulty brands that are a huge part of the problem and not mentioning their names. As it explained, the marketshare value used to be based on the products, now it's on the brand image. So if we tarnish that image by pretending not knowing it, giving new meanings to their ads (I believe "misappropriating" is the term) and only replying to their social media by listing the bad facts about them, we have a chance. But it's an ant work, it has to snowball until the majority of the colony is in to make things change. And we can use local brands to let them develop.
